Photos from the Wedding

I’m sure you have been wondering where did Asit and Karma go.  We haven’t seen photos from the wedding or even received a thank-you card. Well, Karma and I decided to visit India (Surat and Mumbai), the Seychelles, Dubai, London and Paris.  It was an extraordinary trip with many adventures, including missed flights!  We are now back in our home in San Francisco and shocked by the surprisingly warm weather here.  Please feel free to look at our photos from the wedding. It is a tab called “Photos from the Wedding.” We hope you enjoy them.

Three days left

I visited downtown Dubuque today including the Hotel Julien.  The hotel is gorgeous, and the River Room has a large outdoor balcony for our guests.  Karma and I ate at Caroline’s Restaurant and truly enjoyed the food.  I had ahi-tuna tacos and Karma had a Greek salad.  At the bar for our wedding, you will see that Karma and I have designed drinks for our guests.  Please try them.  They are fabulous! The Holiday Inn is approximately two blocks away so it is a short walk from one hotel to the other.  Remember to call your hotel if you are flying into Dubuque so that they will pick you up…

Karma and I are super excited to see you in a week.  We have been looking forward to this weekend for months.  We would like to remind you that you should call your hotel if you are flying into Dubuque because they will have a shuttle van drive you from the Airport to the Hotel.  Both The Julien and the Holiday Inn would like two days notice prior to your arrival.  Cabs are also available and it is a short ride from the Airport to the Hotel. Remember, everyone is invited to the rehearsal dinner. The dinner will be at 6:30 p.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church on Friday, September 27th.…

UPDATE: Reservations at the Julien

For anyone who might not have booked a room yet for our wedding later this month, Asit reserved a block of rooms under his name as the Hotel Julien was set to release them to the public.  Thus, if you still need to make a reservation, please give the clerk Asit’s name and indicate that you are attending our wedding.  The group rate as noted on our “Stay” page should still then apply. Looking forward to seeing you soon!

Going, Going, Soon To Be Gone!

For those of you who are coming to our wedding and need to stay in a hotel room at either the Hotel Julien or at the Holiday Inn, we’d like to ask that you book ASAP.  As you’ve seen from our “Stay” page, we have a block of rooms at both the Hotel Julien and the nearby Holiday Inn at a special rate for our big event. However, all rooms in each block will be released to the general public by NEXT WEEK — or by August 27, 2013.  After the rooms are released, you won’t be able to book a room at the rates we have listed on our…

The Tailor

I’m very excited about my tuxedo.   The well-dressed man below is Dwayne Davis.   He’s my tailor.   He generously went shopping with me for my tux.    Now, I just need to learn how to tie a bow tie.   Brian?   Brian? If you are interested in having Dwayne tailor your clothes, feel free to reach him at (707) 450-6841.   He has his own studio in the East Bay.

Magnets

Our fridge is cluttered, but we love magnets.   That’s why Karma and I jumped on idea of having a “save-the-date” magnet.   I still have a magnet from Mr. and Mrs. Ishak’s wedding.   Karma and I were engaged on February 23, 2013, and when we told friends that we were planning to get married on September 28th, everyone told us that was soon.   Well with four months to go, we have made good progress.   Karma picked out a dress in one week.   It took me longer to pick a tux  (a month or two with several visits to Bloomy’s) plus advice from a dear Mr.…
